What a blinder of a Manchester city wedding I have for you guys. In fact,I’m struggling a little with how to put Aimee and Matthews wedding day into words. I’ve been sat staring at this screen (and out the window…I’ve even had a brew) for far too long now as I just can’t seem to express how brilliant it was.
I’ll set the scene; it was a seriously grey and rainy day in Manchester, the type of day Lowry painted, the type of day that requires your finest kagool, and the type of day this wonderful city seems to be famous for. Whilst all couples dream of glorious sunshine on their wedding day sometimes that doesn’t go plan, and on this day in particular the rain seemed quite fitting as Aimee and Matthew’s had themed the day around their love for the city.
So with the rain lashing down outside there was a steady stream of tears (that’s not true, it was a massive outburst) happening inside as beautiful Aimee walked into the Town Hall. What happened next was one of the most emotional ceremonies I’ve ever seen, words were heartfelt, emotions ran high, and everyone was just SO happy to see this pair marry. We had a hilarious little trip around the city in their little wedding car to get portraits in their favourite places, before heading over to The Place for an epic reception with their families and friends.
Huge thanks to my buddy Lucy for second shooting with me on the day, and even bigger thanks to Aimee and Matthew!
So the words above really haven’t done this justice at all, below are some of favourite images from the day which will hopefully tell the story a little better.
