Oh I’m such a lover of a village hall wedding celebration and the one over at Dunham Massey is just perfect for this. It’s a cracking sized room with beautiful windows, set in a lovely garden. Consider it a beautiful blank canvas to create to your heart’s content, which is exactly what Lauren and Simon did.
When it comes to a village hall wedding the thing that always strikes me is how great it is when everyone gets involved. Whether it’s decorating the venue (and this one was incredible, as you’ll see below), washing up, moving tables, cutting the hog roast, it really is a DIY affair from start to finish. Lauren and Simon were married in the summer at Altrincham Town Hall, with their guests moving over to Dunham Massey Village Hall for the reception. They (along with some help from friends and family) had worked so hard to put everything together for the day so to see it all come to life was very special.
After speeches, pizza and champagne we took some time out from the reception to do some portraits. I have such good memories from this part of the day as I bundled them into my car in the pouring rain with a bottle of champagne in hand and headed off in search of shelter, very good times.
