Katie and Scott held their Winter wedding at Gorton Monastery back in January. It’s been a while since I’ve photographed a wedding there so it was lovely to be back, it’s such a beautiful setting and I could happily visit there every week.
My day started over at The Place hotel for bridal preparations with Katie and her bridesmaids before heading over to the Monastery. Despite the fact it was a very cold and windy day, the Winter sun was on top form lighting up this impressive space perfectly. Katie looked absolutely stunning walking up the aisle with her Dad, I’m sure I heard a quiet murmur of ‘ooooh’ and ‘aaaah’ as they made their way towards Scott. After the ceremony everyone headed into the marquee for the reception, entertainment was provide my Danny the magician who worked his magic (literally) leaving some confused guests, baffled children, and a photographer who wanted to know “how did you do that?” in his midst.
Katie grabbed her cozy jacket before we went outside into the courtyard followed by some very keen confetti throwers, they did their job perfectly. It was a moment of ‘taking it all in’ outside with the two of them in the sunshine, before making our way inside to the reception where they were greeted with a huge cheer. Katie and Scott had been practicing a routine for their first dance in the run up to the wedding so took to the dance floor and blasted out some impressive moves. I think this must have inspired some of their guests as they all threw themselves wholeheartedly into some impressive shape throwing.
A pretty perfect Winter wedding with such a lovely couple. huge congratulations to you both Katie and Scott, thanks so much for having me along!
