Merchant Adventurer’s Hall Wedding
Kirsten and Mark’s Spring wedding at The Merchant Adventurers’ Hall in York back in April was a dream beginning to my Spring wedding season. The day began with Kirsten and the girls over at the very impressive Lendal Tower. Talk about starting your wedding day off in style, Kirsten had her very own tower. There was a constant stream of laughter echoing over all three floors of the tower as everyone had their hair and make-up done, I’m fairly certain this is standard behaviour when Kirsten and her friends get together.
Once everyone was in their wedding finest we hopped in taxi’s and made our way over to The Merchant Adventurers’s Hall where Mark and the groomsmen were all busying themselves with final preparations. The medieval great hall made a perfect setting as Kirsten and her Dad made their way up the aisle towards an eagerly waiting Mark. The ceremony featured lots of laughter (naturally) and perhaps a little tear. Kirsten and Mark are clearly made for each other which it’s obvious for all to see, everyone was just so happy to see them marry.
Drinks Reception
After a morning of ‘will it won’t it rain for the drinks reception’, everyone happily made their way outside to begin the huge hugathon of congratulations with the happy couple. A few cheeky portraits out in the street with the bridal party followed, before we all headed back into the great hall which had been magically transformed by the wonderful Zena at Boodika Events (if you’re looking for wedding planner, she’s your woman). Kirsten and Mark treated their guests to a pie extravaganza, everyone loves a bit of pie and the ones they had were pretty spectacular. Once all the guests were suitably fed and watered the speeches began, cue a room full of belly laughs and emotion.
With Kirsten and Mark’s musical background I knew the dance floor would be an action packed affair. Shapes were thrown, the singing was loud, they didn’t disappoint. Kirsten and Mark left their wedding at The Merchant Adventurers’ Hall through a tunnel of sparklers and cheers, the perfect ending to a brilliant day.
Huge thanks to the brilliant Kathryn Edwards for second shooting with me, and to Zena at Boodika Events for running things perfectly.
