Hotel Gotham Wedding
Katie and Martin held their Hotel Gotham wedding back at the beginning of September. Guys, if ever you’re invited to a party organised by Katie and Martin you should definitely go, because this pair know how to throw the mother of all celebrations. Their wedding took place the day after Katie’s birthday, so everyone was already in full celebration mode when I arrived. My day began in their hotel room, with their inquisitive son staring with fascination at my camera, he is the CUTEST. With visits from family and friends throughout the morning, the preparation were super relaxed.
I love that Katie and Martin screwed with tradition and got ready together, it was so nice to have their family unit all together to share in the excitement and nerves. There was a lovely first look reveal moment out on one of the hotels balconies (the office workers must have had a birdseye view), before everyone made their way over to the Town hall for their wedding ceremony.
A pre-wedding drinks reception took place for their guests, then Keeping with the ‘screw tradition’ theme, the family walked down the aisle together. It was such a heartfelt ceremony, with beautiful personal vows (if you’re umming and ahhing about writing your own, do it!) and some happy tears. Katie and Martin practically leaped back down the aisle as husband and wife, with so much happiness on their faces. The dapper doorman from Hotel Gotham came to lead the walk back to the reception, it was an amusing walk back as the children questioned him about his age. My favourite comment was “But you must be REALLY old to have that moustache”, children’s honesty at its finest right there.
City Centre Wedding Reception
The dancing and singing began pretty much as soon as everyone arrived back at the hotel. This set the tone for the rest of the evening with everyone intent on having a LOT of fun, and boy they did. Some wonderful and hilarious speeches (where everyone learnt quite a lot about Martin), followed by drinks up in Club Brass, then straight into the lazer filled dance floor for some shape throwing. Martin’s one wish was to have lazers at his wedding, I liked his style.
Big love to you both Katie and Martin, I’m internally grateful I got to be a small part of such an incredible day.
