Freinds on Film

I’ve decided to start a little project called Friends on Film. It’s pretty much what it says on the tin; my friends, photographed on film. No huge revelations there, I know. At this time of year I basically forget the existence of my lovely bunch of friends (sorry guys, again!), as I’m generally neck-deep in weddings and editing. not that I’m complaining one little bit I might add, I have a pretty incredible job and wouldn’t change it for the world.

But it has got me thinking, I really need to take more photographs of the people in my own life. As a teen I had a disposable camera with me pretty much all the time, I have a whole stack of horrific photographs that I absolutely treasure. Me and my friends have had many a photo session looking through them all, whilst howling with laughter… perms, yellow trousers, workman’s jackets…the list of fashion horrors could go on.

Friends on Film

If you follow my work then you’ll know I’ve been dipping my toes into the world of film photography recently, so I though I’d combine the two things. Hence the title Friends on Film, genius right? So first up we have Jemma. She’s the first friend I made when I moved to Manchester all those years ago. I interviewed her for a job, little did she know at the time that I was actually interviewing for a friend. Well she got both jobs. She’s a super human Mum to a teen daughter, kicks ass in general life, gives good advice, detests hugs (if you see her in the street, try to hug her, she’ll LOVE it) and has the strongest Salford accent you’ve ever heard.

Thanks for being my first friend on film Jemma, and my first Mancunian friend. You rock. Other friends, I’m coming for you. I also won’t be taking no for an answer.
