Music Single Artwork Project
A little look at some musician promo photography I produced earlier in the year for musician Mark Stoney to promote his single release Swarm featuring Sheffield hiphop & afro fusion artist Franz Von.
In Marks words “Swarm is about cycles of evolution, uprising, dissent, order & chaos, along with the connection and unity of movement in nature. Each individual element of the swarm has a part to play in the bigger dance”

The lyrics from the song feature the line ” Particles starting to form, into a swarm” . I used this as inspiration to create an idea to show our connection with nature.
The single cover was created using a still (very grainy) image of Mark, I developed it in this way to make it blend easier with the additional tiny birds that were added in to create movement and energy within the portrait. This was a lot of fun to work on, even if it did make my eyes go a little funny towards the end.
I produced a mixture of simple black and white portraits to accompany the cover, along with some polaroids. Oh and a Sharpie over some Polaroids, the less technical and more therapeutic version of Photoshop!
This was a lot of fun to work on, and I feel really honoured to have been involved in a beautiful project with such a talented group of artists.
