So I’ve just logged onto here to see when my last blog post was, and I’m HORRIFIED. February 2025, offering hopes and dreams of a newsletter… I’m not entirely sure what happened! I know for a fact that a newsletter didn’t happen, along with other grand promises of previous blog posts. I guess sometimes life is just really busy, particularly when you’re self employed. You have to wear a LOT of different hats, it isn’t just going out to take photographs, I really wish it was. I’m not going to beat myself up about it, but instead I’m going to try my best to share more.
Portrait Photography
I’m going to try and mix things up a bit in an attempt to say more about life as a portrait photographer, as a creative person, and someone who genuinely loves connecting with people to produce images for them. I’m most inspired by other artists who share a little more about what makes them tick, where they find inspiration, and what their day to day looks like. A favourite portrait photographer of mine is Tim Walker. He is so good at sharing the behind the scenes of how a specific image was made. I think that generosity of information can be so inspiring to others.
Obviously I want there to be plenty of useful information too! Is there anything in particular that you would like to hear more about? Perhaps some practical tips on what’s involved in the process of booking a portrait photography session with me, how a wedding day booking works, or a little more about creativity and how to dig into that.
