Hidden River Cabins Wedding
Sally and Matt’s Hidden River Cabins wedding weekend was one of absolute joy. No exaggeration there either. It took place during the heat wave last Summer, around the time we had all convinced ourselves the north of England had actually turned into California, I was even considering giving away all my knitwear. I travelled up to Cumbria a little pinker and freckier than my normal ghost-like appearance, the day before the wedding was due to take place. Sally and Matt had arranged a little pre-wedding get together in their cabin, so all their families and friends could get the party started ahead of the wedding day.
I was instantly struck by how incredibly tight Sally and Matt’s friends circle was. Not just that, they are all warm, welcoming, and a LOT of fun. It’s so special to get to photograph friendships like this, I basically spent the whole time grinning. Speaking of smiles; Sally and Matt are the owners of two of the best I’ve seen. They radiate happiness, with their permanent huge smiles. I have photographic evidence of this below.
Sally and Matt had an outdoor humanist ceremony, performed by the magnificent Maxine Beech. If you are lucky enough to have Maxine performing your ceremony this year, I can guarantee it will be amazing. Everyone got involved (including the rain and wind), and it was truly a ceremony from the heart. Can you tell I enjoyed it?
The minute the ceremony finished, the heavens opened and everyone had to make a mad dash to the tipi where the party well and truly started. There were so many personal touches; cakes made by families and friends, musical performance from family members, Sally’s Dad even brought his piano along! I never did find out how he got it home.
This was a true celebration of love and friendship. Sally and Matt, the biggest of thanks for inviting into your joyful world, it’s a really wonderful place.
