Portico Library Micro Wedding Photography
I photographed the most joyful Portico Library micro wedding back in the springtime. Jessica and Steven were my first wedding of 2021, making them my first wedding in 14 months, making me pretty damn excitable. Following various date changes, along with plenty of emails and phone chats, I was looking forward to finally meeting them. Manchester got the memo that this needed to be a glorious Spring day, as the sun shone brightly filling the city with some much needed positivity after a bleak Winter.

With Covid restrictions still in place, this was an intimate family affair with just 15 people. The Portico Library is the most perfect spot for a smaller wedding. If you live in Manchester and haven’t been there, you need to get yourself in there asap. Jessica and Stevens ceremony took place in the reading room, which basically looks like a movie set from Harry Potter but it’s all the real deal. The look of happiness on their faces throughout the couple of hours I spent with them said it all really. Plans may have changed but that doesn’t really matter when you’re marrying your love. How beautiful does Jessica look with her baby bump too? Just perfect.

Like I said, the reading room is a special place. Although it looks like it should have a secret door to the batcave. We didn’t find it during the time we were there, but there’s always next time.

Following the ceremony and small drinks reception, we took a little stroll around Manchester for a few portraits. a dream in the Spring sunshine with all the trees blossoming.
It felt so good to be back to work again, and I said goodbye with a huge smile on my face. Huge thanks to Jessica, Steven and all their guests for making me feel so welcomed that day.
