Weddings on film seems like a natural progression for me. I use it to photograph literally everything else, so why not weddings too?! I’ve experimented a bit with it for the past couple of years, but I’ve been using it a little more this year and it’s given me a bit of a boost and a new found passion. Practice makes perfect, but I’m having fun experimenting with all the films I love to use when shooting portraits, and trying to include some weird and wonderful bits and bobs too!
It isn’t so much a nostalgic thing for me (I was there the first time round!), but it’s more the dreamlike quality I love, which suits weddings SO much. the whole day can feel dreamlike for the couple getting married, so to view it back on film can help bring that feel back to the present moment.
