My 2015 season got off to a cracking start with Beth and Paul’s Lowry Theatre Wedding in Salford. A crazy colourful building perfect for a day when the skies outside are that lovely shade of rainy grey. I had met Beth and Paul at a previous wedding so I was chuffed to bits when they got in touch to say they wanted me to document their day for them. Paul is a keen photographer himself so it was great to participate in a bit of geek chat when we met up.
I headed over to their home on the wedding morning when Beth and her bridesmaid Laura (you may recognise her from another wedding) were getting ready. it was such a lovely morning with these girls as I knew it would be. I headed on over to The Lowry where guest were milling around and patiently waiting for Beth’s arrival in the cutest of wedding cars, chosen because her Dad used to own one, what a lovely touch.
Beth and Paul are huge music fans. Not only do they have an impressive collection of vinyl, Beth also sings and performs. So it’s made perfect sense for them to marry at the theatre. With their love of music in mind, the day had some great personal touches. Paul used his photography skills to recreate some outstanding album cover recreations, god only knows how long this must have taken. I think Beth as Michael Jackson was my personal favourite, followed closely by Paul as David Bowie, everyone was highly amused when they realised it was them and not the actual artists. There were some pretty special singing surprises during the speeches too, a very talented top table.
Everyone partied hard as the band belted out their tunes, Beth’s Dad made a little surprise appearance too, he was quite the rock star.
A big thanks to my second shooter Greg Milner, he’s a pleasure to work with.
Here are my favourites from the day.
