Sandhole Oak Barn Wedding Photography
On the first bank holiday Monday in May I had the absolute joy of photographing Charlotte and Matt’s Sandhole Oak Barn wedding. The sun was shining, spirits were high, and this quiet little area of Congleton was alive with the sound of Southerners/Northerners having a bloody good time. Having already met Charlotte, Matt and their ridiculously cute son Stanley for a pre-shoot, I knew that I was in for a cracking day. The majority of the pre-shoot was spent laughing, or trying to get Charlotte to stop using Stanley as a protective shield so she could hide from the camera. A great tactic, but one I’m wise to already folks.
One of the things that immediately struck me about Charlotte and Matt on meeting them, was how important family was to them. I know this goes without saying for most people, but with these guys you can really see it. They both come from very close families, and it was so lovely to witness the strong bond they all have with one another.
I have a little theory about bank holiday Monday weddings that I’m going to share with you. If you get married on a bank holiday Monday you’re going to have an epic party. This is a fact. I’ve photographed a few now, and the one thing they all had in common is this; they can get wild/rowdy. I don’t know what it is, but wedding guests love to party on a bank holiday Monday. Which is great news for me as I love to photograph this. It’s safe to say Charlotte and Matt’s lived up (and possibly exceeded) this theory of mine. The dance floor was packed from the very minute the first dance finished, thanks to some spectacular old school tunes from Andy Murphy.
What a memorable day, thanks so much Charlotte and Matt!
