Kelham Island Portrait Shoot // Lucy + Mike
Kelham Island Portrait Shoot
I enjoyed Lucy and Mike’s Kelham Island portrait shoot so much, and not just because it was literally five minutes from my home. Lucy won’t mind me saying that she was feeling a little nervous about having her photograph taken, and she certainly isn’t alone in that. It’s quite rare I meet a couple who both say “oh hell yeah Emma, point that camera in my face and I’m gonna WORK it”. So when you hear back from someone saying that not only do they love the photographs, but they feel a whole lot better about having their photograph taken, well it means so much to me. If you’re feeling nervous about photography on your wedding day, get yourselves booked in for a shoot with your wedding photographer before the big day. I’m not saying that just to get myself some business either, I genuinely mean it. It will help you relax, get to know your photographer better, and make you think less about the camera on your wedding day.
As you’ll see from the photos below, the nerves disappeared pretty quickly. We had a grand old time wandering round the cobbles of Kelham Island, chatting about their wedding plans. I’m particularly excited about the 8 hour spotify playlist Mike has put together, that takes some serious dedication. Their wedding takes place in Manchester this coming week, and I’m super excited about it. They have chosen three city centre venues I’ve never photographed at before, which is always great to get the creative juices flowing.
See you at the weekend!
