Crayke Manor Wedding
A little throwback to a beautiful Tuesday in July, for Sarah and Peter’s Crayke Manor Wedding. An intimate Greek inspired wedding with just their closest friends and a couple of family members, in a beautiful country house. Crayke Manor is essentially the Air BnB that dreams of made of. It’s set in a quiet little Yorkshire village, surrounded by beautiful countryside. There are huge gardens which are perfect for an outdoor wedding, but it also has an equally as lovely sheltered area just in case the heavens open. The interior is just as amazing too. Basically I want to live here. Or at least hang out with all my favourite people here for a few nights, which is exactly what Peter and Sarah did.
Having already done the legal bit a couple of months beforehand, they chose to have a humanist wedding conducted by Louisa Starr. If you’re looking for a Yorkshire humanist celebrant, Louisa is the one. So much thought and effort had gone into making the ceremony inclusive to all the guests, it was magical. With a friendship circle that spans the globe, every nationality was included. There was also Tzatziki making as a nod to Peter’s Greek nationality, and hugs for everyone at the end. All performed under a big apple tree out at the front of the house in the sunshine, perfect.
A small intimate wedding doesn’t mean that it’s going to be a quiet, relaxed affair. Not when you have friends like Sarah and Peter. The day slowly evolved from a wonderful celebration of love into a very wild party. Possibly one of the wildest Tuesdays I’ve known. It was a wedding I will hold close to my heart as I was welcomed to share the food (the BEST food from Baba Ganoush, I still think about now), join in with the celebrations, and welcomed by everyone like a friend. I had an absolute blast photographing this one. Sarah and Peter, thanks so much for welcoming into your lives, it’s been an absolute joy.
I would LOVE to photograph another wedding here, or even just a massive house party. If the universe can make that happen for me I would be really grateful. If Crayke Manor is going to be your wedding venue, we should definitely talk.
