Hadsham Farm Wedding

Lucy and Joel’s Hadsham Farm wedding was full of energy from the minute I arrived. I hadn’t even stepped out the car to begin photographing bridal preparations, when I spotted the beaming face of Lucy waiting in the garden to greet me. That smile was a permanent fixture on her face for the entire day.

Tipi Wedding Venue
Lucy and Joel’s wedding venue was a beautiful lakeside tipi venue in North Oxfordshire, with an outdoor ceremony space overlooking the lake. It was my first time working there (please don’t let it be the last!) and I was completely blown away when I first arrived. It was perfect for the day they had planned with their families and friends. Lucy and Joel had a beautiful outdoor humanist ceremony which was performed by Joel’s Mum. The sun shone down on everyone as they listened to the beautiful words, along with some excellent crowd participation in the form of a singalong with accompanying instruments. The ceremony ended with an epic reading of the lyrics from one of my all time favourite songs; Everybody’s Free (To Wear Sunscreen) by Baz Luhrmann. A stroke of genius, and absolutely perfect for a wedding.

Hadsham Farm Wedding Portraits

Lucy and Joel took a little bit of time to themselves following the ceremony to have a walk round the lake and take some portraits, before heading back to the party. The afternoon was full of some brilliant touches. This included a cake decorating competition (some folks were pretty X-rated with their designs) and a wedding cake pinata. Probably the best alternative to a wedding cake I’ve seen, and SO much fun. Lucy and Joel didn’t hold back with their competitive streaks either.

The evening went off in style with Joel and his friends reforming their band for one night only to provide entertainment for everyone, with an outstanding guest appearance from Lucy’s Sister and Brother-in-Law. It was a lively dance floor and a lot of fun to photograph. I have so many great memories from this wedding, the greatest being the pure joy and happiness that came from Lucy and Joel all day long. This was one of those days when I’m so grateful this is my job. Thank you so much to everyone for making me feel so welcome!
