Monthly film Project

Sheffield Film Photography

My first attempt at a monthly film project, but hopefully the first of many! I’ve recently started following  the brilliant Amy Berge on Instagram. She’s an incredible photographer who produces beautiful work on film. She shared a post not so long ago about a monthly film project she takes part in. The group sets a theme each month as a prompt; something to keep in mind as you go about your days. I really liked the idea of having something to focus on (no pun intended) whilst shooting, so asked to join in.

So in I went, and right into some jaw-dropping,  ridiculously talented company. The theme for February was minimalism, something I find quite difficult to photograph. But still, I gave it a go!

The ones I’ve included below were all shot on a Canon AE1 with Lomochrome Purple 35mm. I’m never too sure how I feel about that film, but it definitely create some weird and wonderful colours.

Before you scroll down; take a look at Catherines take on the subject here, amazing right? I told you I was in some very talented company.

Taken in and around my home and on the various daily walk routes. It’s going to be a joyful moment when we can travel further afield again, but it’s little projects like this that make me notice things locally just that little bit more. I’ve discovered whole new areas that didn’t know existed before the pandemic. I guess that one thing to be grateful for.
