Wedding at Victoria Baths
I photographed Olivia and Tom’s wedding back in May, a whole 7 months ago. Where that time has gone I’m not entirely sure, anyway here we are!
Their original wedding plans looked a little different to the day they had. Some restrictions were still in place, so indoor receptions, lots of guests, evening celebrations, and non-masked faces weren’t a thing. That didn’t hold Tom, Olivia, and their glorious guests back though, I’m fairly certain if you gave this group just an hour to celebrate, they would throw themselves fully into that hour and make it the greatest hour long celebration there ever was.
Victoria Baths Wedding Ceremony
Coming out of that horrendous Winter lockdown and into Spring this year was a moment of absolute joy for me. Winter was bleak, so as soon as those daffodils started showing their majestic yellow trumpet heads I felt alive again. Olivia and Tom’s celebration was the closest I’d had to a full days wedding since the previous November, so I was a bit giddy about feeling alive work-wise again. I wasn’t the only giddy one around. The photographs below are evidence of the joy felt during their ceremony.
Ceremonies were short and sweet back in May, so Tom and Olivia read personal vows to each other during the drinks reception. A truly lovely moment shared with their nearest and dearest. Shortly followed by Colin and Connie the Caterpillar cakes getting chopped up with the family sword! There was time for a few portraits around the baths, then off we all went.
Rooftop Reception at Hatch, Manchester
Off we went to rooftop at Hatch! A beautiful outdoor spot for a little gathering to continue the celebrations. Honestly, this felt like normal wedding service had resumed, and it was GOOOOOOD! Surrounded by the loveliest group of people celebrating with Olivia and Tom, it may not have been the original plan, but it was perfect. Plus as an added bonus, we get to have another celebration in 2022, result!
If you’re currently looking for someone (ME!) to photograph your own wedding or celebration, I’d love to talk to you. Please get in touch HERE
