Theatre Cast Portraits
Great things can come from a twitter callout, especially one from Hannah at HER Productions looking for theatre cast portraits for their latest production; A Midsummer Night’s Dream. I’m so happy I messaged her to find out more. That message led me to a toilet (a very unusual toilet!) at The Greatstone Hotel in Stretford, Manchester. I can honestly say it was my best toilet experience ever.
This wasn’t your average cast for A Midsummer Night’s Dream. Directed by Kate Colgrave Pope, the story was set on a hen night in Manchester. The all female cast brought to life their character traits perfectly for the shoot with so much energy, I had an absolute blast collaborating with them.
The show took place back in October at Hope Mill Theatre and I was lucky enough to go along on opening night. If I hadn’t been going away the next day, I would have brought tickets for the all the other nights too so I could take more people with me to see it. Easily the best show I’ve seen at the theatre, I haven’t laughed and cried simultaneously like that in a really long time, I never knew Shakespeare could be so raunchy, funny, and brilliant all at the same time.
Fingers crossed this isn’t the last we see of this show.
