Connection
The start to this year has been a bit wild, hasn’t it? Horrendous fires, billionaire madness, evil people in charge of countries; it’s enough to make you want to hide away. Thankfully there are also many amazing stories of community support and positive action, which counteracts with that.
Social Media is currently making me feel really uncomfortable, mainly due to the people behind it. It’s so difficult to feel that you’re part of their financial gain, particularly when they have such awful views on the world. As a small business owner I feel a little trapped by it all. One of my main sources of enquiries and connection with clients is Instagram. I’ve made so many great connections through that app, and have been inspired by so many other artists too. I’ve been weighing up the options of what to do. I don’t want to join another social media app (although My Space would be nice!) and start again, so I’m going to give a few other things a try. A little more reasearch into what will make me feel happy doing this, then we’ll give that a try and see what happens!
This is a really interesting read about Social Media exhaustion from Amy Odell, I found it fascinating. What are your thoughts on this, where do you think this is all heading? Hopefully back to in person conversations, sending postcards, and other joyful things.
