Experimenting with creative film

Experimental Film

We are so spoilt at the minute for experimental film, and I’m here for it. I was introduced to it via the Lomography films. This was quite a few years ago, when only Lomochrome Purple existed in the world (examples above). Since then, Lomography have added a turquoise addition, which is so otherworldly, I adore it.

Creative Film Photography

There’s something about using a more creative film choice that seems quite freeing to me. I think if you’ve made the choice to put a film in your camera that has the possibility of turning a forest purple, you should probably embrace that creative freedom a little bit more. I’m always surprised when I see the photographs from this style of experimental film, I have a broad idea about the colours but it’s never guaranteed.

Get Creative With Film

The one thing I’ll say about using this type of film, is that they really love sunshine. My personal view is that the sunnier the day, the brighter the colours… I could be wrong though! I love taking portraits using creative film. If this is something you’re interest in too, I’d love to chat with you. Please get in touch HERE . If you’re a photographer reading this and haven’t used any weird and wonderful film, go out and experiment!
