When Josh first contacted me with his secret wedding proposal plans, I was so excited. I’ve been photographing weddings since 2012 (quite a long time!), but somehow have never photographed a proposal. To make things even better, the person he was proposing to was someone I knew and had previously photographed for my International Womens Day portrait project. When I first met Tilly I immediately loved her, as I’m sure everyone does.
Fast forward to the day of the proposal and I was probably the most nervous I’ve ever been taking photographs! My main fear was being spotted by Tilly, or missing the moment completely! Thankfully neither of those things happened and everything went according to plan. It was such a special moment to document, and in one of my favourite places too. Sheffield Botanical Gardens in rose season is a special place… and it smells SO good.
