People and Places // Travel Photography
2019 brought with it some very interesting people and places. I was lucky enough to travel to the US, Singapore, Italy, Israel, and Myanmar. That’s a bit of a dream list. Mixing work with adventure, I couldn’t really ask for anything more. Every trip brings new experiences and with that a whole heap of memories. I have to be honest, I don’t actually take that many photographs when I’m off on an adventure somewhere. I’m generally taking in all in and storing it in my brain instead. Possibly bad practice for a photographer, but that’s just the way it is for me. It’s also the reason I shoot film for personal travel stuff. It’s a much more selective and slower process, which suits me just fine when I’m relaxing. I also like to experiment with lost of different film, as you’ll see below. It can be a bit hit and miss sometimes, but my personal favourites for travel are Yodica (rainbow heaven!),Revelog (dreamy colours), and Fuji 400h.
People watching is one of my favourite pastimes, I think that must be why I love wedding photography so much. I could literally spend hours just watching people walk down the same street, In fact I have, several times this year. I’m always trying to figure out what their story is, or making up my own version. So here’s a very small selection of people and places from 2019, who knows where 2020 will take me.
