Wedding at HOME
Things are slowing down on the wedding front, the editing pile is getting smaller (slowly!), so I can finally get myself into gear and start sharing some of the work I’ve done this year. It’s been a busy one for me; lots of great weddings and other shoots going on but I wouldn’t want it any other way. I’ve met some brilliant people this year, and that includes Lucy and Mike. They married back at the beginning of June this year in Manchester city centre. They chose three great venues; the wedding ceremony took place at HOME, followed by a little walk over to Innside Hotel for the reception and dinner, followed by a party at Brickhouse Social. The thought of organising a wedding in three separate locations might be a bit terrifying to some folk, but not when you are the most organised groom on the planet. I suggested a career in wedding planning to Mike, but he didn’t seem so keen on that idea.
After spending a morning with Lucy and Mike for their pre-shoot here in Sheffield back, in March I knew this would be a great day to photograph. They are a couple that constantly laugh together, and like to share a lot of fun. They also have pretty amazing taste in music, the epic 8 hour playlist Mike compiled for the wedding day proved this. You’ll see from the photos below that the day went as I had imagined, although I had imagined slightly less rain. For this wedding it added a little something. There was a little rain gap in the afternoon, so at that point we marched to top of the car park roof over the road for some portraits. Lucy and Mike had already scoped this spot out so I hadn’t been up there before. You’ll see from the photos below that they chose well, really well.
I’m not going to waffle on for any longer so here’s some photos from the day. Huge thanks to you Lucy and Mike, you made me feel so welcome. Also, can more wedding receptions have karaoke booths please?
