I don’t know about you, but I need to see some join on my computer screen, so I’m bring that to you in the form of Nikki and Dave’s surprise wedding. This is actually part two, part one can be found here. As if the excitement from earlier wasn’t enough for them Nikki and Dave chose to have another surprise wedding later that evening for their extended families and friends. That’s a LOT of people to keep a secret from. I had to avoid making conversation with everyone until the surprise had been revealed as I was too scared I might just blab!
I think it’s fair to say spirits were high when I arrived at bridal preparations later that afternoon, and that set the tone for the rest of the evening. Evening guests started to arrive for the’engagement party’ but were soon met by Nikki and Dave in their wedding attire. A few shrieks, a lot of happy tears, and some serious cheering ensued. Nikkis wonderful friend and celebrant Steve performed a beautiful humanist ceremony for them, before everyone bombarded them with congratulatory hugs. It’s safe to say by this point of the day I was a little bit in love with Nikki and Dave myself. I was so touched by how welcoming they both were, and just how damn kind they were to every single person. Two very special people and a match. I know I say this a lot, but I was so honoured to have been chosen to photograph such an epic wedding day.
