London Autumn Wedding
Brace yourselves; Ross and Lucy’s London Autumn wedding is a treat for the eyes. I got to experience it in the flesh, so for me it was also a treat for the soul. They first got in touch with me after seeing a previous wedding I had photographed at one of their wedding venues; The Asylum. I’m fairly certain this venue is on all wedding photographers bucket lists, it’s pretty special. But that wasn’t all. They then explained the rest of their wedding day plans; which included another incredible venue The Crypt at The Bleeding Heart, and travelling there via a ghost bus tour.
It would be ridiculous at this point not to mention Lucy’s dress. Ye gods, it was special (perfect for the person wearing it). A custom made black lace creation by the talented Jenny Lessin , featuring an anatomical heart, so unique and beautiful.
The morning was chilled and joyful, spent with Lucy and her friends before travelling over to the Asylum where Ross and their guests were excitedly waiting.

The Asylum Autumn Wedding Ceremony
The Asylum looked beautiful in the afternoon light, perfect Lucy and Ross. The smile from Ross when he sees Lucy, isn’t just a ‘walking up the aisle seeing her for the first time’ smile. It’s a permanent fixture on his face smile whenever he sees her, and it’s the kind that’s contagious.

Personal Wedding Traditions
They had a wedding ceremony of two parts. Both were really personal to Lucy and Ross and included lots of beautiful moments. The second part of the ceremony was performed brilliantly by their friend Faye, which included a ring blessing, sharing their favourite cocktail, and a handfasting. The happiest couple walked back down that aisle, to a sea of friends and family all so happy for them.

London Wedding Reception
I’ve been on some great wedding bus journeys in my time, but I’ve never been on a comedy ghost bus tour to a wedding reception. A stroke of genius, and a great way to make that trip across London to The Crypt at The Bleeding Heart.
The Crypt at The Bleeding Heart Wedding Reception
Ross and Lucy had a vision when it came to their reception, and that vision became a reality. A candlelit cosy gothic dream, fit for an epic party. Their talented florist Anna had completely covered the ceiling in greenery and candles, it had gothic Italian courtyard at midnight vibes. They had spent a lot of time seeking out personal touches, and had created a dessert cabinet of curiosities that features anatomical hearts, beetles, and fossils amongst other things. All edible, and all very realistic.

London Wedding Photographer
There was so much love in that room for Lucy and Ross. Looking back through their photographs to put this blog post together has taken me right back to that evening, and how special it felt to be documenting this day. There was a lot of hugging, some really heartfelt speeches, and my god, the dance floor went OFF.

What an absolute joy to have been the lucky gal to have photographed this one. The biggest thanks to Lucy, Ross, and every single person at their wedding. This blog post has made me miss my job SO much.
